Information Services at Vidant Health Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics' Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition. Position Summary The Data Services Analyst role is to develop, coordinate, implement, and communicate the organization's Data Services strategies and initiatives for legacy Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems. Monitor and own the success of all daily inbound/outbound file transactions across Vidant Health. Investigate and resolve daily exceptions and errors. Has a deep understanding of all of the file formats ingested and sent by our systems. Work with internal teams and partners to create and scale our documentation of EDI processes. Work independently ensuring work efforts are properly aligned with Vidant Health strategy. Apply business knowledge context to the data received in EDI transactions, and recommend workflow changes to leverage that knowledge, while working closely with internal teams and partners on new interfaces. Provide mentoring for less skilled team mates. Look for opportunities to implement new technologies to improve service while reducing costs. This position is required to rotate on-call responsibilities. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree preferred 8
years of programming / systems analysis experience with emphasis in applications and systems architectural design and development, database and middleware technologies required 4-6 years of experience in troubleshooting applications required 2-4 years of experience building interfaces with an HL7 Engine or other Interface Technology preferred. HL7 experience required. Epic experience required. Data Capture experience required. Epic certification required in either Bridges or Cache. Experience improving the ITIL and SDLC processes required. Ability to effectively support complex applications in clinical, financial and / or administrative areas Works independently with quantifiable and qualitative results Ability to conduct analysis, document findings, draft plans, follow up Capable of effectively leading projects including both IS and VIDANT HEALTH personnel according to Information Services project methodology, within budget, and on time Recognized as a source of knowledge and proactively functions in that capacity when sought after by others Independently motivated to seek knowledge in areas pertaining to their current position Self-educates and/or seeks knowledge from mentors / management of VIDANT HEALTH enterprise, Information Services environment, and VIDANT HEALTH operations and relevance to their position Ability to conduct analysis, document findings, draft plans, follow up Capable of effectively leading projects including both IS and VIDANT HEALTH personnel according to Information Services project methodology, within budget, and on time
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
