00 24 Bed Medical Intensive Care Unit Primary Population:
The MICU provides services to adult, acutely ill patients experiencing the following:
Hemodynamically Instability, Respiratory Failure requiring Intubation, Pneumonia, Sepsis, Renal Failure requiring CRRT, DKA, GI Bleed, Stroke, and Infectious DiseasesRegistered nurses provide care in conjunction with the care partner and medical teamThe twenty four beds are divided into (3) 8 bed areasThe unit has 1-2 float nurses without patient assignments and one charge nurse without patient assignmentSkills that will be utilized are continuous infusion medication management, pain management, wound care, arterial lines, central lines, tracheotomy patients, central lines, chest tubes, mechanical ventilation, continuous cardiac monitoring, and various continuous intravenous dripsRN ratio 1:
