Description: Makes and schedules patient appointments and coordinates referrals in an efficient and timely manner. Maintain multiple doctors- schedules.
Work is performed in an office environment. Involves constant telephone contact with patients and other medical offices. Involves frequent communication with patients and other staff members. Work may be fast-paced and stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Contact involves dealing with sick people.
Duties: 1. Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously.
2. Schedule, coordinate, cancel and reschedule patient-s appointments.
3. Screen calls, take messages, answer questions and provide information.
4. Relay necessary messages to staff via phone notes in Centricity.
5. Relay necessary messages to MDs requiring hospital consultations.
6. Collects patient demographic and insurance information.
7. Schedule and coordinate outgoing and incoming referrals to offices both inside and outside of Physicians East.
8. Educate patients on specific tests required by medical staff.
9. Complete and send Request for Referral Appointment Authorizations to Managed Care Representative and notify patient of referred appointment date and time.
10. Maintain and update current information on provider and extender-s schedules.
11. Sends out new patient packets with specialty specific information.
12. Able to begin day at 7:45am and end day at 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
13. Work as a contributing member of a team to keep departments running smoothly.
14. Participate in in-service education, staff meetings and other continuing education programs to maintain optimal technical knowledge.
15. Adhere to department and company policies.
16. Attend safety classes and compliance training as offered by Physicians East, P.A.
17. Perform related work as required.
18. Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications: High school diploma; Associates degree preferred. Medical office experience required. Must have good organizational and time management skills and computer experience.
Work requires sitting for long periods of time; some stooping, bending and stretching may be required. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, type 40-wpm, operate a calculator, telephone, copier, fax machine and such other office equipment as necessary. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts. It is necessary to view and type on computer screens for long periods and to work in an environment which can be very stressful.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
