A local, family oriented school located 30 minutes south of Greenville, North Carolina is in need of a Special Education teacher. The qualified candidate will be handling an elementary caseload, consisting of four (4) wheelchair students. Two (2) aids and one (1) nurse will assist with caseload.
Duties for the candidate include instructing students in academic subjects using a variety of techniques such as phonetics, multi-sensory learning, and repetition to reinforce learning and to meet students' varying needs and interests, teach socially acceptable behavior, as determined by the students' individualized education programs (IEPs) by employing techniques in an overall positive behavioral support system, and modify the curriculum for students with disabilities based upon a variety of instructional techniques and technologies.
