Position Summary
The Inpatient Skin and Wound Program Nurse provides direct patient care and serves as a clinical resource/ consultant for patients with selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary systems. The Inpatient Skin
and Wound Program Nurse should be prepared to provide the full scope of enterostomal therapy nursing practice,including education, counseling, research and administration.
Responsibilities
Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care in the inpatient setting for wound and continence populations and in inpatient and outpatient settings for the ostomy populations.
Serves as a consultant in the areas of expertise.
Educates patients, families and members of the interdisciplinary team in areas of expertise.
Supports Inpatient Skin and Wound Program maintanence and advancement.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
MSN is preferred.
MSN may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
Current RN licensure is required.
Current Wound and Ostomy certification by the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) is preferred.
3 to 5 years of clinical nursing experience.
Other Information
Position is salaried, schedule is Monday - Friday.
Hours are typically 8:30 am - 5:00pm. Some flex may be needed for occassional stafffing needs.
Relocation and Sign-on may be available.
