Maintenance Worker - Greenville Health Care Center
Performs a variety of work including:
o Generating and tracking work orders o Prepare work requests and service orders, o Performs minor repairs and maintenance.
o Applies multi-skilled trade practices and determines whether or not work should be accomplished in-house, referred.
o Monitors contractor work performanceo Assists with scheduling power outageso Key custodian o Conducts periodic building inspections o Performs monthly fire extinguisher inspections and notifies supervisor of any necessary corrective actions.
o Inspecting.
Inspects maintenance and repair work performed by carpenters, plumbers, and painters on buildings and related structures, fixtures, and utilities to determine that the work is within acceptable VA standards, specifications, or contractual requirements.
Inspects building and on-going project work.
Notes deficiencies and initiates corrective measures as appropriate.
o Plumbing.
Unstop traps, sinks, toilets, and urinals.
o Carpentry.
Repairs damaged walls and frames.
Fills, smooth, and sands damaged areas to original specifications.
o Painting.
Paints interior of building.
Ensure paint color and type is correct.
Prepares surface, mixes paint, and applies it with a brush or roller.
Protects work area from spills.
o Operates a truck capable of carrying loads weighing up to and including one ton to transport material and equipment to the work site.
